Instrument is supposed to smooth unwanted resonances across a wide range of frequencies. Voice processes the midrange and high frequencies that dominate most vocal recordings. Neutrino is a unpretentious plug-in that has four modes. The combination of these makes the Neutrino a hybrid 32-band compressor/dynamic EQ with extremely simplified controls. This becomes interesting when you add in the factor of time, similar to the attack and release on a compressor. If one small set of frequencies gets too big for its boots, Neutrino will put it back into place. Then Neutrino places an EQ onto each one of these bands.

Spectral shaping, in simple terms, breaks the incoming audio into 32 different frequency bands, each spanning roughly 1/3 of an octave. Neutrino, spectral shaping, hyperspace, flux capacitor. it all sounds a little sci-fi for my liking! So first of all, let's be clear what this plug-in actually does before we get stuck into the details. It's designed to be used lavishly across your currently solid mixes, to achieve greater sonic balance and refinement. Neutrino is a spectral shaping plug-in that utilises the latest mixing technology from iZotope. I think it's very interesting technology and with more flexibility added I'm excited to hear more. This plug-in will cost you nothing, and makes taming unruly frequencies in your mix a breeze This is a shot a demonstrating the adaptable processing, which is why you'll hear it phasing back and forth against the source (which I've nulled as closely as possible, after correcting the latency bug)-Ī static EQ or regular wideband dynamic process would sound very different to this:Īnd again: it's not supposed to sound good or right, but reveal the adaptable nature of the processing. Please notice that this is NOT how Neutrino sounds on a vocal and it's not possible to get the actual processing output alone (with this method). Here's an example of what the processing itself sounds like on a vocal, dialled all the way up. It's an "intelligent" plug-in so it constantly analyzes and processes based on the input. Also, 0% Amount/0% Detail is not transparent.

seems to be a 1 sample latency that's not reported correctly to LPX, with or without internal bypass on. If i run a bassloop i can dial in a cool sound but then after a few loops it sounds like there is less or no processing again. Sound seems to change over time on the bass preset. Plug-in formats: VST 2 (32-bit and 64-bit), VST 3 (32-bit and 64-bit), Audio Unit (32-bit and 64-bit), AAX (64-bit), RTAS (32-bit), Audiosuite DPM and AAX. Supported operating systems: Windows: 7, 8, and 10/Mac: OS X 10.9–10.11 Learn more about Neutrino's spectral shaping:

Best of all, it's free to download, and easy to use. With simple controls and low-CPU usage, you can achieve better balanced mixes without sacrificing dynamics and sonic integrity. Neutrino is ultra efficient and designed to add balance and focus to a mix when applied to every track, conceptually similar to analog summing or console emulations. Insert Neutrino on multiple tracks across your session to reveal a subtle amount of detail that can help elevate great mixes to a new level of refinement.

Add that final polish to your mix with Neutrino, a free spectral shaping plug-in that offers a glimpse into iZotope's newest mixing technology.
